Cayenne Pepper
suggested by Nashira
on Tuesday, May 1, 2007
If the sore throat is caused by a bacterial infection then make some broth hot as you can stand it without burning your mouth and put some cayenne pepper in it (about 1/8 teaspoon per cup). Adding garlic to the broth is extra beneficial. This will immediately relieve the soreness but continual sipping will kill the bacteria and your sore throat should be gone in a day. It works for everyone I've suggested it to, including my very skeptical husband. If you're away from home try going to a Chinese restaurant and ordering hot sour soup...this has worked for me in a pinch.

Get some Unkers (amish remedy you can buy online) and rub on throat. Cover throat with cloth to keep warm all night. Make sure to wear socks to bed. Oh, if you have a cough, rub some unkers on the bottoms of your feet. Over time, your cough will quickly go away. Another thing I try if the "sore throat" is in my ear and back of throat: Benadryl!

I notice that if you eat natural yogurt when you get a sore throat, it helps the sore throat go away. As a note, I also take Advil along witht he sore throat and in combination, they work better. I know Advil is not a home remedy. However for an over the counter drug, I was surprised how much it helps.

for sore throat-
1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp Salt
1-2 cloves pureed Garlic
2 cups of water
6-7 inches of aloe vera stalk.
Heat to comfortably warm. Pour what you need, about a 1/2 ounce, in small vessel and gargle with this several times a day. The aloe will seep out of the stalk and be stronger.
