My cracked heels are gone

suggested by Angela on Tuesday, May 1, 2007

I went for years without wearing sandals because of my ugly cracked heeds. Here's what I did. for about two weeks in a row I did this twice a week. First i soaked my feet in epsom salts, then I put on a foot scrub treatment by New Dawn to remove the dead skin, then I used a pumice stone and even used one of those razor things, then I slathered on a product called Emushea, put on socks and went to bed. I GREAT improvement overnight but after two weeks no more cracked heels. The only place I've found Emushea is at www.emushea.megamarketingmall.com

A Wee Remedy

suggested by Jude on Wednesday, April 25, 2007

I am surprised that no-one has mentioned urea. There are several tubes and pots of "heel balm" with urea as acitve ingredient available here in Australia and in Europe to cure heel cracks. The most natural source is your urine, particularly first thing in the morning. Soak feet for ten minutes. Works a treat. Old Italian remedy this is.

Quick Overnight Remedy

suggested by Kelly on Saturday, March 17, 2007

For a quick overnight remedy, buy a stick of chapstick medicated lipbalm and apply it liberally to the cracked area. It will make it feel cool for a while (i think theres menthol in it) but the next day there will be a lot of improvement.

Dry heels and pads of feet

suggested by [unspecified] on Monday, March 12, 2007

I use a pumice stone covered with soap on wet feet, and foot rasp (coarse side fist, then fine side) on dry feet, then irregardless to what others have said, I found a thick coating of Vaseline over clean feet and under clean white socks for 24 hours does wonders! Repeat twice weekly. Pumice stone, rasp, and vaseline can all be purchased at dollar store.

cracked heels

suggested by Elsa on Saturday, March 10, 2007

A remedy that really worked for me is: Sugar scrub & exfoliate with some sort of foot scrubber. Then rinse with warm/hot water pat feet dry but leave a little moisture. Next lather feet with eucalyptus oil, then slap on thick socks. This usually is done before bedtime b/c the eucalyptus oil aids as a sleep agent...very soothing when absorbed into skin. I usually buy these products at Bath & Body Works...but I'm sure you can find other places that sell the same type of stuff. Should see results in about 5-7 days depending on how severe.
