Asthma; Diminish Coughing Trigger
suggested by john
on Friday, January 26, 2007
I am an asthma victim. In cold weather, I get a strong urge to cough wich leads to intense paroxisms of coughing and severly restricted asthmatic breathing which can be relieved with medication. I have recently discovered, through my interest in accupressure and pressure points, that the intense coughing trigger I experience can be greatly diminished by reaching in and under the front of one's collarbone with the first three fingers of each hand. Reach deep inside the collarbone with a pressure you can manage and hold. This is not comfortable but with practice you may find it can reduce your dependence on medication and your incidence of asthma as it has done for me.

What every parent should know about Asthma
suggested by Patrick
on Friday, January 26, 2007
About fifteen years ago I discovered by accident what really causes asthma. When my son suddenly developed asthma aged six an neighbour woman told me about goats milk and how it works in some cases but not in all cases. I tried it and it worked great for about a month and then the asthma returned again. Both my wife and myself devastated until we discovered our son was getting pasteurised milk at school. We continued giving our son goats milk, but this time we did it differently. We used goats milk exclusively instead of pasteurised milk, on his tea and his cereal and a small glass last thing at night going to bed and first thing in the morning. We continued doing this for twelve weeks and then we let him take normal milk again to see how it would affect him. He is now twenty six years old, a fully qualified carpenter building timber framed houses and never a sign of asthma Goats milk is not an alternative medicine, it is simply a safe and simple alternative source milk containing all the nutritional values that pasteurised milk should contain, but without the asthma causing agent Goats milk can be purchased from most major Supermarkets and can be taken along with any other medicine or inhalers. It does not have any side effects. This treatment has proven to be one hundred percent with every child or adult that has taken it. The patient or parent that is taking this treatment will know inside forty – eight hours that it is working. If a child has been born with asthma or has developed it in the first six months of its life this treatment still works but the treatment must be continued into teenage years. It is very IMPORTANT that this treatment is continued nine to twelve weeks to allow the immune system build up a resistance to the asthma causing agent in normal pasteurised milk As asthma affects a large percentage of lower income families and single parent families this service is FREE. I didn’t have to pay for it so why should you. Members of the scientific or medical world may or may not agree with my thesis ,but when you watch helplessly as your child starts turning blue with an asthma attack , the only thing that matters then is what works and saves the child’s life

changing my diet changed my life
suggested by ellena

dear friends. for years i suffered from severe bouts of asthma. in fact it was rare for me to go out without having to take a handbag full of eight different medications. after many years of being medicated by doctors, injected with steroids, inhaling steroids and taking oral steroids, being put on antibiotics month after month, i finally sought out alternative medicine. the simplest change i made in my life was the one that proved to be most effective. i elimated all dairy and gluten products from my diet. within the first week i stopped taking four meds. now one year later i am able to function on a daily basis without my meds. however, i am not suggesting that you go without a relief inhaler. I always carry that and always will. other things you might consider are increasing your intake of omega 3 fatty acids via cod liver oil (or in my case flax seed oil) and taking large daily doses of vitamin c to increase lung function. best to all of you.

In a small bowl of boiling water, put some Menthol in it, put a towel over your head and inhale the vapors. Another good way is having another person cup there hand, and pound on your back over your lungs this will help aid the mucos on moving it around and help ypu bring it up.

Treating asthmatic cough
suggested by Suriani
on Thursday, December 21, 2006
I am an asthmatic patient. Whenever I had a flu, a bad asthmatic cough will attack me with an asthma attacks. To combat this, I drink a mug of parsley tea 3 times a day and a mug of green apple juice 3 times a day alternately. This is done by plucking a mug of parsley leaves and let it soak in a mug of boiling water. Cover the mug for about ten minutes before drinking it. Drink while its hot. As for the green apple, slice the apple thinly and soak it in a mug of hot boiling water for 10 minutes before drinking it. Do not drink it when it's cold as this will cause more mucus to form.
