Diet

suggested by [unspecified] on Tuesday, March 6, 2007

It took me 27 years of suffering with acne to discover a cure that worked for me. I tried everything from antibiotics to all kinds of topical solutions. It wasn't until I changed my diet that I saw results. I cut out refined sugars, milk, white flour, hydrogenated oils,high-starch foods, and fried foods. I eat as many raw vegetables and fruits (avoiding tropical fruits and melons)as possible, take daily zinc, vitamin C, and fish oil or flax seed oil supplements. I also try to drink plenty of water. Whenever I eat any of the foods I cut out of my diet, I almost always get acne the next day. My doctors through the years have been dead wrong. Acne CAN be caused by certain foods. Good luck, I hope you find the peace of mind that I had been looking for my whole adult life.

no more acne

suggested by angel on Tuesday, February 20, 2007

I have had a very bad case of acne for almost a year now. I have tried different prescription drugs such as antibiotics. After using the medication it seems to have helped clear my face a little. What i have found to work best is five steps. 1) Never touch your face and I mean no matter what do not touch your face you will be so suprised at how much this will help. 2)when you take a shower use cold water on your face dont use warm water this will cause your pores to open 3)Do your very best to stay out of the sun a tan will make your face look better but will irritate your face and cuase a more sever break out. 4) If you are a girl I would recommend not using make-up (if possible)5) I would also recommend trying to keep the sweating down to a minimum ( when exercising do it at the coldest time of the day) I usally do any kind of work outs at night because it is almost 90 degrees every day where i live. (I have found the heat makes my face break out more and now that i have been trying to stay cooler through out the day my face is looking better. My last suggestion is that you keep your face as dried out as possible i would recommend not using any type of moisturizer.............( i would also recommend doing more research on the topic I have found different treatments work best for different people

Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide

suggested by K on Thursday, February 15, 2007

Soak a exfoliating pad, or washcloth with hydrogen peroxide and then sprinkle about a teaspoon (doesn't need to be measured, just for an idea of how much)on to it and wash your face in a circular motion. Your face should have a white foamy film from the peroxide. Rinse off. Spot cleanse(Very lightly) any pimples with alcohol and then dab a bit of antibiotic cream (not ointment) on it. Neosporin cream with pain reliever I think will have it. Once you see it you can go for the generic brand but basically you want the cream(white) not the jelly (Clear). Drink lots and lots of water. I have suffered with acne for over 14 years, and will be turning 30. I have tried EVERYTHING except accutane. Every other prescribed drug I have tried and every other OTC product though, and this by far, has worked the best. It helps with blackheads too!

brilliant for acne - cure after 17yrs of suffering

suggested by Bex on Wednesday, February 14, 2007

Don't bother with shop bought rubbish full of parabens and alcohol and dimethicone...etc. They are all rubbish that do nothing for your skin except block it. Go buy some ADUKI or AZUKI or ADZUKI beans (they are small red beans, dried, with a white stripe)Grind them up into a powder. Store the powder dried in an airtight/light-tight container. Every time you wash your face use the powder...tip a bit into your hand, add a few drops of water to make a paste...and in circular motions spread onto your face. It's a brilliant exfoliator too. The first time i used this i could not believe the smoothness of my skin in the morning. TRULY! It is a remedy that has been used in Japan for 1,200 years! Use PURE coconut oil as a moisturiser. Don't wash your face more than 2 times a day. Excessive washing will cause more sebum production, risking more outbreaks. Don't buy the rubbish in the stores. Home remedies from food are MIRACULOUS! Strawberry...wizz it up in a blender and put on your face for 30 mins....lemon juice...horsetail juice, cucumber juice...KEEP IT NATURAL. The body does not recognise toxic products that are in cleansing creams/lotions, so if you spread them on your face you should EXPECT acne. I'm finally free of acne after 17yrs.Haven't bought a anti-acne facewash in over 2 years. More money in my pocket, no acne. Always look to nature to heal, that is why it is there :-) Eat lots of vegetables, whole foods...sure, this does help too.

As A Professional

suggested by Misty on Saturday, February 10, 2007

Washing your face alone for acne is not enough. A healthy diet and a face moisturizer is needed as well. Make sure the "soap" you are using is not just your average hand soap. It needs to be a facial cleanser that is oil free and PH balanced too! Your facial skin tissue is completely different to that of your hands! Also the facial moisturizer needs to be oil free, especially from mineral oil, as well as any make up used on the face. Mineral oil is the skins enemy! Do not use hand lotion on your face! Stripping your face of oil, will aggravate the situation. Then your facial skin screams out to make more oil. It is looking to be balanced, so a water based oil free moisturizer is absolutely important, no matter HOW OILY OR HOW MUCH ACNE YOU HAVE use a oil free water based moisturizer!! Wash your face twice a day. In the morning and before you go to bed. Also a good oil free mud mask and an oil free face exfoliator is a great move too. Make sure the exfoliate is a gentle micro bead that is sphere shaped. The facial scrubs like the popular apricot one, is much too harsh and will do more harm than good. The scrubbing granules are too sharp and not rounded, which leads to microscopic cuts in the facial tissue. Those cuts will allow bacteria to enter the skin, and the granules will only aggravate the skin more. Remember not to aggravate the skin by scrubbing and rubbing harshly. Always be gentle and blot skin dry, don't rub! And never ever pick at pimples! This will lead to scars. If you MUST rid it of the pus, take a tiny pinpoint needle and very carefully and gently prick the very tip of the pustule and allow it to empty on it's own without pinching it or pushing it out. Then wash your face. Drink lots and lots of water and get a good intake of vitamin A. Carrot juice is a great and delicious source.
