Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

8 ripe strawberries
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 cubes ice, crushed

Method:

  • Rinse the strawberries in cold water and remove the stems Place in a blender.
  • Add the skim milk, yoghurt, vanilla extract, sugar and ice cubes.
  • Blend the mixture for a minute till it becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Pour into two glasses and serve garnished with a fanned strawberry.
  • This smoothie tastes best when served fresh and chilled.

  • For those who do not like the tartness of plain yoghurt, vanilla yoghurt can be used and the amount of vanilla extract can be reduced.
  • Honey can be used instead of sugar as a natural substitute.

  • Frozen strawberries can also be used instead of fresh ones, but the latter are preferred.
