Anal Cancer

Anal cancer is cancer of the anus, the end of the Gastrointestinal tract or the large intestine.



This cancer is carcinomas. This cancer is similar to cervical cancer in many respects. This cancer is made of squamous cells.



The cancer is malignant in most cases, the cancer has occurrence in both men and women, and however, the cancer in both cases might be different.

Anal cancer in women might be the cancer of the inner part of the anus called recturm, where as in men there are more incidences of cancer of outer part of the anus. The main reason for cause of this cancer is human papilloma virus.



This virus affects the mucus membrane in both humans and animals. People indulging in anal sex are at a high risk of contacting this virus. People with HIV are at a high risk of this cancer because of the immunosuppressant nature of the disease.

Anal cancer symptoms include, pain in the anal area, passing of blood through rectum, lump in rectum, a lump near the anus or discharge from the anus.



This cancer, can be treated properly provided it is found in time. In case the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, you will require undergoing the numerous tests and treatments to make body free of any cancerous elements.

There are several stages up to which this cancer has grown, the earliest stage, as usual is the easiest to remove, the cancer has affected only the upper part of the tissue of anus, however, as the stage grows the cancer grows deeper, and can start affecting other parts of the body as well. The stage to which the cancer has grown can be determining after undergoing the Pap Smear test which finds out malignant and pre malignant processes in cancer development in cervical and anal types of cancer.





If the cancer has already grown to lymph nodes and has started affecting other organs, then the cancer should be treated immediately with different treatments available for surgery and removal of the cancer. Surgery is the most important part of treatment for removal of cancer, it can be combined with chemotherapy or radiation therapy depending upon the intensity of the cancer.

Anal cancer should not be ignored, any difference or pain in the anus should be checked immediately for people who are at a high risk level of the anal cancer.



You might find certain growth near hair of the anus, these tumors might not be cancer tumors, these have the chances of being simple irritation boils near hair.
