There are several reasons what cause ADHD, this can be caused due to excessive sugar in food, this disorder can be caused due to chemicals that send messages in brain. This disorder also runs in families, almost 25% of people suffering from this disorder have someone in the family suffering from the same disorder.
Severe brain injuries and toxins in environment are also known to cause this disorder. Therefore, with so many reasons for the disorder there are different types of medications and diagnosis and treatment is different.
Therefore, doctors will suggest different therapies and diagnosis for each child.
Treatment starts from setting goals and monitoring behavior not just for the patient but also for complete family.
Most of the times family counseling is done so that all family is prepared to deal with the behavioral changes among the patients. In order to cure this disorder a collective effort of all those around the patients is required.
Therefore family counseling is done so that family members, relatives, siblings, teachers and others near to the patient should get involved in this counseling so as to make a team effort to seek cure.
Studies have revealed that collective and team efforts show better results than those done singly or alone. Therefore curing this disorder requires a team effort.
Treatment plan includes family counseling, medications prescription for the patient as well as different therapies for the patient through which conscious efforts are made to bring out definite changes in behavior of the patient.
There are several therapies the beginning one is the psychoanalysis that helps explaining the extent of ADHD another one is aimed at bringing out a change in behavior of the person called behavior therapy this also includes parents and teachers who correct the child every he does something wrong in a different method that rapprochement. This can be learned only through counseling. Behavior therapy is aimed at teaching a child how to behave especially in public places.
It is important that the treatment plan is realistic and not out of bounds for your child, your child should be able to cope up with the therapy in order to benefit from it. |
