unplug ears
A person may suffer from blockage in their ears due to a variety of reasons. These would include the presence of excessive ear wax in the ear canal or changes in the atmospheric pressure that may result when flying or could even occur as a result of water entering one’s ear while swimming or bathing. There are numerous ways through which one can unplug ears filled with water or ear wax. However if at any time the ear blockage is painful, then the person should seek medical attention. At times there may even be signs of an accompanying fever.
One of the most effective home remedies for to help unplug ears is to try chewing on some lozenges or some gum. The process of swallowing when chewing can help in clearing the blockage from the person’s ear. Another useful tip to help unplug ears is for the person to hold their nostrils tightly shut and simultaneously close that ear which is not blocked while trying to blow some air outwards. This needs to be done in a forceful fashion for it to be effective. This is especially useful if the person’s ears get blocked due to changes in atmospheric pressure. Another useful home remedy to treat plugged ears is to warm up some olive oil and then proceed to use a dropper to put about 3 to 4 drops of this warm oil in to the person’s ear that is affected. Sometimes lying down on one side with the affected ear facing the ceiling can also help to unplug ears that are blocked. This should be done with the oil in the ear. After about 4 to 5 minutes the person should turn over to the other side to allow the oil to drain out. Besides olive oil, one could even try coconut oil. Another useful home remedy to unplug ears that are blocked includes yawning very broadly a few times. One should always take care that they do not insert any kind of sharp objects in their ear like safety pins or any other ear cleaning devices. These can cause an injury to one’s ear canal by damaging the ear drum. Putting objects into the ear canal may also push the ear wax deeper into the ear passage intensifying the condition. However at all times one should seek medical advice if there is any pain involved or if the person suffers from a fever.
