In most cases, with the passage of time a person’s body would undergo a lot of wear and tear. This is true especially in the case of our joints and especially the knee. If the knee pains and joint pains are ignored and left unattended then they may escalate to the point where they may impair one’s day to day life as well. A home remedy for a sore knee that has been going on for a very long time is to lose any excess weight as it tends to put added pressure on the knees. One should also practice various exercises that are aimed at strengthening the muscles that support the joints which also helps in further alleviating the pain.

When one relaxes the knees, the blood flow to the knee becomes easier and thus keeping of ones feet for some time will allow the sore muscles of the knee to relax and gradually recover. If one is suffering from a sore knee on account of an injury then one should provide the sore knees with immediate treatment in the form of a cold compress. This may be done by simply applying some ice to the knees within intervals of 20 minutes at least thrice a day. This will help in providing relief form sore knees. On the other hand if the sore knee is on account of a long –term injury or because of overuse then the individual may actually require a knee brace.

Many a times both athletes and non-athletes may use a knee brace to provide the sore knee with some meaningful support and this is also considered to be one of the most beneficial as well as preventive methods to avoid the problem of sore knees that one can adopt. Another natural treatment to get relief from a sore knee is to elevate ones leg while resting. The leg should be kept elevated at heart level as this will also help in preventing any possible swelling.
