peeling feet
Peeling feet and hands is a commonly observed phenomenon in many people. Our skin too is typically made up of three layers, namely the epidermis followed by the dermis and finally the hypodermis and the outermost layer tends to give away often so as to be replaced by a fresh covering of skin. Thus peeling feet is usually not something to be alarmed about as it is a normal and temporary condition. However some people may also suffer from excessively peeling feet and hands which is a cause for concern. Peeling feet and hands may also occur on account of the weather condition which may result in the skin getting dry or even suffering from sunburns. Besides these, fungal infections that tend to affect the hair and the nails are known to harm the skin as well. Some other causes of peeling feet are excessive sweating, allergies, side-effects of some medications, skin disorders and even a case of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis. In case of peeling feet one may be able to suitably cure this problem using the various home remedies that are available. One of the home remedies for peeling feet is to massage the feet, by concentrating on the area from where the skin is peeling some olive oil or coconut oil. This will help in moisturizing the skin and thus prevent peeling feet. Another natural treatment for peeling feet is to apply some honey on the skin especially if it is peeling because of excessive exposure to the sun or cold weather conditions. The honey should be allowed to remain on the skin for at least half an hour before washing it off with some cold water. Peeling feet could also be effectively controlled by following a healthy diet that is rich in iodine, iron as well as vitamins A and B. One of the natural treatments for peeling feet on account of dermatitis or eczema is also to apply some mint juice on the feet and then allow it to dry completely before washing it off. Peeling feet can also be effectively cured by soaking one’s feet in some water with some apple cider vinegar added to it. The vinegar in the water is known to be effective in killing the various microorganisms that tend to feed on the skin cells and thereby cause peeling feet. Peeling feet caused because of dry feet can be treated at home by ensuring that one consumes plenty of fresh drinking water to maintain the proper balance of the dermal system.
