dark inner thighs

Dark inner thighs are usually a result of chafing of the thighs and the friction that result from it. When the thighs come in constant contact with each other while walking or doing other kinds of work, it may leave a darker coloring in the area which comes into contact on a regular basis. For most people, this chafing only causes discoloration, but little discomfort. However, there are also those who experience serious discomfort and pain as well because of this. Apart from dark inner thighs, chafing can cause the darkening of other body parts as well. For instance, the groin and arm pits may also darken in color due to the constant friction and chafing. Apart from the darkening of the thighs, you may feel soreness and a burning sensation in your thighs as well.

Darkening of thighs is characteristic of women who have heavy thighs. Wearing close fitting clothes that cling to the body and do not absorb sweat, would also increase the chances of chafing and its symptoms. Usually, if there is sweat caught in the clothes, it may worsen the situation as well. Athletes and obese people are therefore more prone to chafing and dark inner thighs.
The simplest remedy to prevent chafing and frictional damage from occurring is to wear cotton clothes or clothes which allow your thighs to remain dry and comfortable. If you perspire a lot around your inner thighs, you could use talcum powder to reduce the chafing. When you are performing any physical activity like walking, running or jogging, make sure that you are well hydrated as dehydration causes the skin to become excessively dry, increasing the likelihood of suffering from chafing.

Weight loss can also greatly reduce chafing. When you lose weight and tone down your thighs, they come less in contact with each other, allowing you to be more comfortable. If you have dark inner thighs, with visible signs of chafing, wash your inner thighs with lukewarm water repeatedly. Use a mild cleanser to make sure that the area is rid of all bacterial and viral microbes. You can use calendula oil to moisturize your inner thighs and remove any traces of bacteria which may cause infection in the sore thighs.
Vitamin A and zinc are dietary supplements which can help you get rid of the discomfort caused by chafing. Yams and carrots are rich in vitamin and should be consumed in large quantities if you have a regular problem of chafing.
