brown under eyes

The color of human skin is determined by the genetic makeup of an individual. The pigment that gives color to the skin is known as melanin. When there is more melanin the skin appears darker and less melanin results in lighter skin. There are always shade differences in the skin depending on the health of the individual and various other factors like cleanliness of the skin and exposure to solar radiation. Many women seek ways by which they can darken their skin by a few shades and do so using artificial or natural tanning procedures.

The skin around the area under the eyes is often affected by habits and other conditions. This skin is considered to be a sign of sleep as well. Dark circles are often associated with sleep deprivation and may occur when an individual has not slept well or is extremely sleepy. Hyperpigmentation is responsible for dark skin around the eyes. The skin in the affected area tends to have excess melanin in it. This causes the skin to appear darker than it normally would. Skin discolorations may occur as a result of poor circulation. The area around the eyes may appear puffy and this can change the appearance of the skin around the eyes. Some people, particularly those with a fair complexion may suffer from the appearance of bluish veins around the eyes. A person with brown under eyes is likely to be suffering from hyperpigmentation. If this is the case, brown under eyes can be treated with some form of skin treatment that can be availed of at a skin clinic. However, these treatments may be expensive and sometimes involve the use of a laser which may not always be effective.

There are some home remedies for brown under eyes that may be used instead of expensive clinic based treatments. Many people advocate the use of cucumber around the eyes. Cucumber also provides a cooling effect to the eyes. These slices can be applied for up to half an hour at a session but are also effective when used for just 15minutes as well. Many home remedy users also suggest tea bags for the same problem. Cold tea bags can provide a similar cooling effect while also helping with the dark patches around the eyes. Cucumber can also be used in the form of juice and this juice can be used as a face wash twice or thrice a day.
