brown spots on leg

Skin forms the outer protective layer of the human body. The skin performs many different functions that are broadly related to the sense of touch, heat regulation and immunity. These functions are performed by the interaction of the various parts of the skin. The skin is formed in different layers. Over a period of time, the top layer always tends to be removed and replaced by the layer below it. This continuous process of skin regeneration means that the skin is always fresh. Skin color has become an important factor for many people across the world. There are groups of people who wish to have slightly darker skin than they have and there are others who prefer slightly lighter skin. The tone of the skin can definitely be changed with various beauty products. However, the color of the skin is determined by genetic data unique to each individual. The skin color depends on the concentration of a pigment known as melanin. Darker skin has a higher concentration of melanin than lighter skin.

Many people suffer from blemishes on the skin that may be embarrassing to them. One of the common types of blemishes is brown spots on leg. Brown spots on leg are caused by melanin production. Melanin overproduction may occur after some trigger or may happen without any cause. In the former case, it explains why people who have been exposed to the sun develop brown spots. When the body is exposed to the sun, melanin production increases in order to protect the skin from the radiation of the sun. This may result in certain spots suffering from hyperpigmentation. When this happens, a brown spot may be visible there. The problem of brown spots on leg only applies to people with lighter shades of skin as it does not happen in darker skinned individuals. Melanin overproduction may occur early in life as well with no known trigger and this is what causes brown spots on children.

There are medical treatments and home remedies that could be used for brown spots on leg. These include using laser treatment, skin creams and chemical peels. Home treatment experts recommend the use of lemon based paste which helps to naturally bleach the area and make the skin appear more homogenous. There are also fair-skin treatments but these are not very effective against small blemishes. These blemishes can also be treated with aloe vera gel which is known to improve skin tone and texture.
