Why Women Lose Hair:
There are many reasons why a woman can lose her hair. One of the main reasons a woman will loose her hair is directly related to hormones. Women going through menopause, pregnancy or other changes in their hormones, probably experience some changes with their hair. Sometimes it is more pronounced than others and in almost all cases, women who lose hair for hormonal reasons will almost always grow the hair back after the problem is corrected. It is not uncommon for a woman to lose hair up to three months after giving birth. Women may notice thinning hair or even bald patches.
The other reason women lose hair is due to stress and poor diet. It is proven that those under a great deal of stress will tend to lose hair. In addition, a poor diet is also to blame for hair loss in women. In this case, a better diet, along with vitamin supplements can help stop the hair loss. Your doctor can also help you determine if you are losing hair due to prescription medications or other illnesses. Sometimes a woman may be ill and not even know it.
It is also interesting to note that women can also lose hair like men—alopecia. This is often caused by hereditary and there is really nothing you can do. If you experience a large amount of hair loss and hormones, poor diet or stress does not cause it, then you are probably losing hair that is not reversible. It may be a good idea to see your doctor.
