The most essential vitamin for hair is vitamin A, closely following which, comes vitamin B. Both of these are essential elements for good and healthy hair growth as well as maintenance of good hair. Vitamin A will aid in rapid growth and add to the generosity of texture of the hair. Vitamin B will add to the strength of the hair shaft from within. These nutrients are easily found in a whole lot of food products. To focus specifically on vitamin A, it is found in almost all yellow and orange colored vegetables as well as some fruits. It is good to know that a deficiency of this vitamin is extremely rare, particularly in developed countries, where lack of food is not an issue. A person who is on an averagely healthy diet will never find themselves deficient in vitamin B. For hair, it would be wiser to concentrate on biotin, another term for vitamin B6. This vitamin is richly present in tomatoes, lettuce, almonds, chicken liver, eggs, milk, halibut, oats, walnuts, cabbage and cauliflower. The best way to avoid being deficient in this nutrient is to ensure that most of these foods are present in the diet on a daily basis. After a month of dietary alterations, if there is no change in hair, supplements of these nutrients can be added to the diet.
