Fifty years ago they said that TB would soon be history. But even now it kills over a million people a year. A major difficulty in treating patients with pulmonary TB, I was told, is that the organism can slowly become resistant to standard therapy. More recently, I’ve read that studies of the genetic make-up of Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains have revealed that resistance can also come from re-infection with a new strain that is already drug-resistant, sometimes against multiple drugs. In any case, I didn’t want to die of TB, so I took the advice given by my janitor.

He gave me some Tuberculosis home remedies treatment that turned out to be rather effective. First of all he suggested Indian gooseberry (amla). So I decided to try it. I mixed 1 tbsp each of amla juice and honey and had it every morning. Together with that he told me to have pineapple juice; said it is considered valuable in treating tuberculosis. So I decided to drink 1 glass of pineapple juice everyday and have 6 bananas – he said they work wonders in curing Tuberculosis.

I can’t say, bingo, I’m fine as a fiddle, but I’m showing marked improvements and – hey, what the heck – now even the doc says keep up the therapy.
