Toothache Cure Remedies
A toothache can be really inconvenient and sometimes the pain may be excruciating in or around the tooth. Toothaches can be caused by problems in the teeth or jaw such as cavities, gum disease, the emergence of the wisdom tooth, a cracked tooth canal problem, or an exposed tooth root. The severity of a toothache can range from mild discomfort to extreme shooting pain. The pain can be aggravated by chewing or by hot or cold temperatures.
What are the Causes? The main cause for toothache can be a faulty diet. Excess consumption of candy, soft drinks, pastries, refined carbohydrates, and all type of sugars can contribute to tooth decay. If you do not rinse your mouth after eating, you provide the bacteria with the perfect environment to break the sugars in the mouth into acids. This in turn combines with the calcium in the enamel to cause decay or erosion.
What are the Remedies? The most effective remedy for a toothache is garlic. You should place a clove of garlic with a little rock salt on the affected tooth. This will relieve the pain and also cure it. You can also chew a clove of garlic everyday to keep your teeth strong and prevent toothache. Onion has high anti –bacterial properties and can kill all the germs in the mouth. You just have to chew raw onion for three minutes every day. It can allay plenty of tooth problems. You can also place a small piece on the bad tooth or gum.
Lime is another natural remedy that prevents toothache, decay, and the loosening of teeth, dental caries, and bleeding of gums. With its rich vitamin-C source it helps to maintain the health of your teeth. You can also try wheatgrass juice as it helps in curing toothaches. Wheatgrass can also be chewed to remove toxins from the gums.
You can also try asafetida which may be pestled in lime juice and slightly heated. You can dip a cotton swab in the solution and place it on the affected tooth. It will bring quick relief. A paste made of bay berry bark with vinegar can be applied to ease toothache and is excellent for strengthening the gums.
You can chew the root of the East Indian rosebay to alleviate toothache with immediate effect. You can also use clove oil to lessen toothache and fight germs in any cavities. You can also use guava leaves to reduce tooth aches. Simply boil a few guava leaves in two to three glasses of water and strain. You can use this water to gargle twice or thrice a day. For temporary relief you can place an ice pack from the outside to get rid of the pain.
Try to avoid sugary foods at night. Even if you brush properly, there could particles in the interspaces of the teeth. You can try foods with pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes. Foods rich in vitamin-C are beneficial.
