Minerals are an important part of the general health and well being of the human body. The average human being requires a variety of minerals to survive and remain healthy. The main requirement of minerals lies in sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. These are required in decent quantities by the body, whereas minerals such as manganese, sulfur, cobalt, and chlorine are also required in lesser quantities. A deficiency of these minerals can have some really serious side effects with potentially dangerous results. Naturally, what symptom you experience will depend upon what mineral is missing from your scheme of things. but in order to figure out the diseases that may be caused due to mineral deficiencies, you can understand the role that all minerals play in the smooth functioning of the body, minerals are largely responsible for formation of healthy bones and teeth, they maintain normal and healthy cellular activity and are helpful in maintaining normal heart rhythm and musculature. Therefore, any deficiency in minerals would naturally manifest in problems with these things too. You may not know what to look for unless you know very specifically what minerals you are deficient in. But it is advisable to keep an eye open for any and all symptoms related to the problems mentioned above. The early signs would be easier to spot as they would be more pronounced and out of the ordinary. The more time is spent with you living with any sign or symptoms, the less chance you will have of being able to make clear distinctions and interpretations. Remember that signs of these things are not really overt and big. They will start subtly and in small ways.

Mineral Deficiency Diseases

Diseases caused by mineral deficiencies can cover a large range. They can go from arthritis, heart trouble, strokes, muscular dysfunction, and basic bone diseases to blood problems, anemia, and resistance to bacteria, scurvy, anemia, and rickets. And these are just the tip of the iceberg. As mentioned before, what affliction you are suffering from would be totally dependant upon the deficiency you are suffering from too. In generally healthy individuals, a healthy diet is sufficient to take care of minor deficiencies. Moreover, a regular health supplement is sufficient to take care of any leftover deficiency. A serious deficiency can only occur if there is another underlying problem or serious illness associated with a person. This has a high likelihood of causing the deficiency.
