Some of the stop snoring remedies are:
- One of the common reasons for snoring is a blockage of the nasal passageway. If you sleep on your back, you can try sleeping on your side. This allows your nasal passages to be freer.
- Overweight people or those who have excessive fat around their neck, are more prone to snoring at night. This is because when they are lying, the fat around the neck exerts pressure on the airways, causing the snorting sounds associated with snoring.
- Alcohol, sedative pills, and tranquilizers are known to depress the nervous system. This relaxes the muscles of your face and your jaw, causing you to snore. A nightcap before sleeping is not advised for those who snore. Instead, it is a better idea to drift naturally to sleep.
- If you have any allergic conditions that affect your respiratory system, get them checked immediately because it could cause you to snore while you sleep. If you feel that your nose is stuffy before going to sleep, use a dehumidifier in your room or inhale steam to unblock your nose.
- A mouth guard, though uncomfortable, is excellent anti snoring equipment. Unfortunately, a mouth guard can only help you as long as you continue using it. It is better to switch to other home remedies which can help you get rid of snoring permanently.
- Smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products causes irritation in the lungs, therefore producing more phlegm in the respiratory system. When there is more phlegm in your lungs, it does not allow you to breathe normally. This is another cause of snoring at night while sleeping.
