Arthritis is a condition in which the joints get severely affected. The patient experiences symptoms as pain in the joints and looses their mobility. In most of the cases, arthritis also damages the bones and other tissues from the joints. The symptoms and effects may vary according to the type of arthritis. Septic arthritis is one of the severe types of arthritis. It is caused by infectious agents and if not treated it can lead to serious effects.  Therefore, it is important for everybody to know about the signs and symptoms of arthritis & septic arthritis. The following article will tell you something about the signs and symptoms of arthritis & septic arthritis.

The common signs and symptoms of arthritis & septic arthritis appear only after some time from the occurrence of arthritis. Generally, first infection will reach the joint and it will grow there. During this time, there will not be any signs and symptoms of arthritis & septic arthritis. They will appear when it does enough damage to affect the functioning of the joints.

First, the patient will experience pain in the affected joint. The pain generally occurs when the joint is moved. This happens because of the loss of cartilage or the synovial fluid from the joints. These are the most sensitive parts of the joints, which are affected by arthritis. Because they are damaged, the lubrication is affected and therefore friction occurs in the joints whenever they are moved.

The loss of lubrication will eventually lead to inflammation. At this stage, the joints become stiff. They pain severely whenever moved. In some cases, a sound occurs whenever the joints moved.

At this stage, the other common signs and symptoms of arthritis & septic arthritis include patches on the skin above the joints. This occurs when the infection affects the skin above the joints as well. In the same way, it can affect muscles or other tissues and give rise to symptoms as muscle spasms, etc.

One of the important common signs and symptoms of arthritis & septic arthritis is fever. The infection may cause fever as well. The fever can be temporary or permanent.

If no treatment is done over it, then severe losses to cartilage and other tissues in the joints can occur.  Because of this, they start appearing to be deformed. This too is one of the common signs and symptoms of arthritis & septic arthritis but it happens only in the very advanced cases.
