Receding Gum

Receding gums actually mean what the name translates into – loss of gum tissue such that the roots of one’s teeth are seen. It can be rather unsightly and can occur as early as during teenage years. However, those over forty are more likely to experience such gingival recession, as it is also termed. Symptoms of this dental problem include common ones like sensitive teeth and tooth discoloration. You know you’re in trouble if you can see the roots of your tooth. Teenagers should bear in mind that tongue piercings or even those in one’s lip, while they make an interesting fashion statement, can cause this. In this case it’s the rubbing against ones gum that results in the recession. The cure receding gums lies in the importance of knowledge of how to prevent receding gums. For instance, as adults we should know that orthodontic movement of teeth is one of the many possible causes of gums receding. Treating receding gums involves tackling issues such as basic brushing and flossing guidelines. Basic steps such as maintaining a nice, clean toothbrush clean and subsequently replacing it a minimum of every three months is important. Natural remedies for receding gums usually deal with things like sage mouth rinse (warm). Tea tree oil can also be used to make such mouth rinses. A receding gum remedy is increasing your intake of green tea. Just a little clove oil, when gently rubbed on one’s gums, can provide so much relief.
