Plantar fasciitis is the condition which is associated with intense pain in the heel. The plantar fascia ligament which runs across the feet when develops tears, results in pain.

The pain is generally experienced in the morning hours which subside as the day progresses. The plantar fascia ligament is flexible; it contracts and relaxes depending on the pressure applied to the feet.

In the night there is no physical activity so the tissue tightens and when in the morning as one gets up and takes the first step the tissue stiffens which results in acute pain but as one continues with his daily chores the feet warms up and the pain too calms down.  Activities like standing at a place for a log time and exercises which puts pressure on the tissues are the other factors which cause plantar fasciitis.

First understand the cause of the pain then it will be easier for you to get the treatment.  Once the diagnosis is done you can take the medication as recommended by the doctor.  Never ever try to ignore the symptoms, the moment you feel the problem visit a doctor.

It is better to go for natural process to cure the disease; physical exercises which tones up the muscles and making it flexible may help in healing the disease permanently.
But if medicines are required then take it; follow the doctor’s advice. He is the best person to guide you.

Wearing of incorrect shoes which are not having proper cushion also results in the pain. This is considered to be one of the prominent factors of plantar fasciitis.  So always go for comfortable shoes which fit you properly.   If the pain is not coming down you can also take medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen.  However if all the preventive measures fail then go for surgery.
