Polycystic Ovary Disease

Polycystic ovarian disorder/disease (PCOD) is very common in the modern world. The unfortunate part of this disease is that it has become so commonplace that most of its symptoms are usually ignored and thus it is left undiagnosed. If you feel that you are suffering from a host of common symptoms which can be classified as those of PCOD, then the first thing you should do is get a medical diagnosis about your body. Try to keep in mind that no matter how confidently your doctor speaks to you about PCOD, there is no definite way to prove that you are indeed suffering from it. Medical science has not yet come up with an accurate diagnosis plan for PCOD, and nor have any reasons for the same ever been delineated. If you have even a sliver of doubt, you should get a second opinion on the disease. Meanwhile, if you are diagnosed with it, you should not only take medical help for it, but you should also try out some simple home based remedial measures to help with the problem. The first thing to keep in mind is that this disorder could be inherited, and it could just as well be caused due to your lifestyle.

Avoid self remedies, as this could possibly worsen your case. Take proper medicines for treating PCOD. At home, start regulating your lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise as well as proper rest routines. Try to avoid stress and live as relaxed a life if you possibly can. Try to exercise daily, preferably, try to do Yoga. This is a form of exercise that is well suited to your problem as it helps to tone up your body as well as de-stress. Make sure that you only consult a qualified trainer and speak to your doctor about the yoga regimen that you intend to follow. Try to eat simply and not tax your digestive system excessively. Following a daily routine will aid stability. Excessively rich, spicy food can put a spanner in the works; as can consumption of alcohol, smoking and not sleeping properly. Many women with this medical condition also suffer from hair loss and skin problems. Do not use any oral or topical applications, even if they are available over the counter, without your doctor’s knowledge. If you are already being medicated for PCOD, oral medication for acne and hair loss can cause a reaction between these two medications and cause further health complications. It is important to follow the directions of your doctor and nutritionist to fight this disease.
