PMS Relief Cure
Premenstrual syndrome, or PMS, is the behavioral and physical changes that a woman has before her menstrual cycle begins. These symptoms are caused by a change in the hormonal levels in the woman’s body and she experiences these signs about a week to a fortnight before her menstrual cycle. There are over a hundred symptoms of PMS, both physical and behavioral. When experiencing PMS, the woman’s breasts swell up and become tender and she suffers from dizziness, cramps, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, and oily skin to name a few. There are telling behavioral changes in the woman during this time. She becomes more agitated and irritable, depressed, has unexplained mood swings, and becomes anxious. Apart from these, she also has a difficult time concentrating on things and gets angry on most trivial of matters. Some more symptoms of PMS include a loss of appetite, fatigue (so much so that she cannot get through the day without feeling exhausted), pain in the joints and muscles, and a craving for certain types of food like sugary or salty. Sweating and palpitation are also symptoms of PMS. However, not every woman shows all of these symptoms. The signs and their duration may vary in different women.
A woman can try to control these symptoms and get relief from them during her periods. The symptoms aggravate if the woman is overweight so shedding extra pounds would help in easing the symptoms. Other than that, the intake of sugars must be restricted as that also worsens the condition. A healthy woman will not suffer from these symptoms as much as an unhealthy woman would. If the woman exercises for at least 20 minutes four times in a week, she will be able to get relief from PMS effectively. This is because exercising keeps the system vitalized at all times and also regulates the hormonal levels. There are some more remedies to prevent these symptoms. Taking a hot water bath relaxes the muscles and prevents cramps. Consuming a cup of hot tea with a dash of lemon and a teaspoon of whiskey added to it brings relief from stomach cramps. Similarly, drinking Peppermint tea, chamomile tea, and yarrow tea also helps in alleviating cramps. Eating small and frequent meals with adequate potassium in the diet is also beneficial. Beans, broccoli, and fish are amongst the richest sources of potassium. Caffeine, red meat, and fatty food must be avoided as they all cause irritability and anger.
