Lower Back Ache Natural Remedies:
Back pain is one of the most common types of ailments. A back pain could be of varying intensities, ranging from a dull throb to a sharp excruciating pain. This is a condition that is fairly common and tends to affect everyone at some point in their lives. It pain may be cause due to several reasons, some of which are; strenuous physical activity, injuries, bad posture, degenerative conditions such as osteoporosis and arthritis, psychological problems and strain. This condition is not a sickness by itself but rather is an indication of some other problem.
Here are a few home remedies that will help in treating lower back pain. Stress is one of the most common reasons of a back ache; a cup of hot chamomile tea can act as a great stress reliever. Boil a cup of water and to this add a tablespoon of chamomile flowers. Let the two simmer for a few minutes on a low fire. Strain out the water and add a teaspoon of honey to enhance the taste of the tea. Two to three cups of this tea, if had daily, will be effective in preventing a back ache. Similarly, ginger root tea, when prepared in similar manner, also serves as an effective remedy for treating a back ache. One of the oldest and most effective remedy for back pain is the application of a warm compress. Dip a towel in a bowl of hot water. Squeeze out the excess water and place the towel on to the affected area. This has to be repeated several times; it will enhance blood circulation, relax tight muscles and thus will help in gaining relief.
Add 3-4 garlic cloves to two teaspoons of coconut, mustard or sesame oil. Warm the two for a few minutes on a low fire, till the garlic turns brow. Once the oil cools strain it out into a bowl. This should then be massaged into the lower back area for a few minutes. Mint oil and eucalyptus oil are also considered to be effective when it comes to treating back ache. Massage a few drops, of any one of these oils, into the affected area for a few minutes, on a daily basis. Mix together one tablespoon of honey and a glass of warm water. This concoction should be had every morning on an empty stomach. Finally consume foods that are rich in vitamin C such as strawberries, blueberries and citrus fruits.
