Chest Congestion Natural Remedies:
One of the most common conditions that periodically affect almost every individual is the common cold. Probably the most irritating and feeling of uneasiness stems from the congestion of a persons chest, when being affected by the condition. However, it is important t understand that there are a number of other causes that could also lead to a congested chest. A congested chest will normally develop as a result of a buildup of excessive amount of phlegm and mucus in the airways. This blockage will cause a significant amount of discomfort while performing, otherwise normal and natural tasks, such as breathing. The congestion or buildup of phlegm could be triggered by viral, bacterial or even fungal infections finding their way into the respiratory system. Most of the time, the congested chest will occur with other problems of the respiratory organs such as a cough, which may be either dry or wet, or a constant and uncontrollable bout of sneezing – which are natural actions of the body to get rid of the irritant – the bacteria, fungi or viral infection.
In order to relieve your body of the feeling of a congested chest, the mucus that has built up the blockage must first be broken down. You could easily do this at home by using a simple steam therapy. All you need to do is boil some water, place your head over it and drape a towel over your head in order to prevent the fumes from escaping. With your head placed directly over the boiling water, start to inhale the steam. This will soften and break down the solidified particles of the mucus – thereby dislodging them and making their removal much easier. You could also try soothing your throat by drinking some hot tea or eating some warm chicken soup as this will help soothe the throat internally. If your condition of a congested chest is accompanied by a dry cough, you should create an almond paste by soaking about 10 almond seeds in water over the course of the night. The next morning, you should peel off the upper skins of the almonds and add some honey as well as half a teaspoon of butter and mix them all together. Have small doses of the paste three times a day for a period of 3 days to experience considerable improvement. Chewing on cloves that have been fried in a little oil will also be extremely beneficial.
