Angular Cheilitis Cures

Angular cheilitis is a condition that causes the lips to get chapped and cracked. This painful condition normally affects the corners of the mouth and makes simple activist such as speaking and eating uncomfortable. Our lips are extremely delicate and have only a thin layer of skin that covers them. The number of oil glands present in the lips is fewer when compared to other areas of the body. Thus, as the amount of moisture available is limited, they tend to dry easily. Although normally associated with cold weather conditions, angular cheilitis can be caused due to a large number of other reasons, such as; poor hygiene, poor diet, as a side effect of certain medication, illness, stress and anxiety and vitamin deficiencies. This condition if ignored can at times lead to an infection, which may then require medical attention.

When an individual suffers from this condition, the lips appear dry, chapped and cracked and this is often accompanied by a burning and itching sensation. In more severe conditions, the cuts and cracks in the skin may bleed. Here are few home remedies that you could implement to treat this particular condition.
