Migraine Headache Cures

If you find yourself experiencing severe headache on one side or both sides, nausea, vomiting, and become more sensitive to light and noise, you are probably suffering from a migraine. A migraine is a neurological syndrome which alters your body’s perceptions, causing headaches and nausea. It is more common in women than in men. You may experience unilateral and pulsating pain that throbs from 1 to 72 hours. Migraine headaches can be mild, moderate, or severe.

What are the Causes and Symptoms?
Migraine headaches can be trigged by disorders in digestive system, the liver, or your eyesight. They can also arise due to stress and mental tension. Sitting in front of a computer for hours overworks the muscles of the neck and head and can also lead to migraines.

Some of the symptoms that foretell migraine headaches are pain in one side the head starting from the eye. You feel depressed, irritable and lose appetite. You may experience nausea, a pounding headache, vomiting, and numbness or weakness in your arms or legs. You may have a visual C-shaped aura with arc shaped flashing lights with a gray center. You can also experience all the symptoms without an aura. Migraines can be caused by allergies, low blood sugar, infections, intake of drugs, deficiency in nutrition, lack of proper sleep, excessive smoking and drinking, and menstruation in women.

What are the Remedies for Migraine?
Nature offers the best remedies for migraine. You can try grape juice without adding water to give you relief. Lemon crusts are very helpful to treat migraine. You can grind lemon crust and apply it on the fore head as it is very effective and lasts longer. Niacin rich foods like whole wheat, yeast, green leafy vegetables, nuts, tomatoes, nuts, sunflower seeds, and fish are useful in treating migraine. You may take Vitamin B-complex tablets with 100 mg of niacin to reduce the pain. You can also try a compress of cabbage leaves. Crushed cabbage leaves placed on a cloth and applied on the forehead for a few hours will help to ease the pain. Use fresh leaves every time as they dry out after use.

You can drink carrot juice mixed with cucumber, spinach, and beet juices which are effective for migraine. The mixture can be made with 200 ml spinach juice, 300 ml carrot, and 100 ml of beet and 100 ml of cucumber juice. At times toxins in the body can trigger migraine. The best way to flush them out is with plenty of orange juice and water. You can apply a paste of sandalwood on the forehead. A rosemary oil massage on the forehead will help you sleep well.

Try to avoid caffeine, spicy foods, sweets, refined cereals, and tinned or preserved foods. Eat healthy, drink lots of water, relax, and get proper sleep to keep your migraine woes at bay.
