Everybody knows that having a massage is an outstanding way to spoil one’s senses. Most people may have probably experienced massage in some other way but massage therapy isn’t the same as the other types of massage. As the name suggests, this is a combination of relaxation from the massage itself and the healing acquired from the therapy.
Another thing that makes massage therapy different from other types of massage is that it requires series of therapies. One session isn’t enough as the stress, tension and pressure stuck up on the body can’t be totally flushed away in a session of an hour or two. Most massage therapists require their massage patients to follow sequence of the therapy, 6 sessions the minimum and 12 the maximum. The first procedure would be to check certain points of the body and the massage therapist measures the amount of toxins stored by some strokes. From this, the therapist will prescribe a series of sessions which is often 3 times a week. It may also be different to those who are suffering from certain illnesses such as osteoporosis or severe back and body injury. These people are often required to attend more sessions.

Though most of the sessions are health related, a person may still feel the relaxation that a massage gives since the patient will be the one to choose on the type of massage he wants to be used during the sessions of the therapy.

The popularity of massage therapy grows day by day as many doctors and health practitioners also recommend this therapy as an alternative for health treatment. Many of those who have tried, mostly stroke patients or previously paralyzed patients can attest that massage therapy really works. Not because you feel good means you are healthy. This is what massage therapy is about; feeling good both in the inside and outside.
