Libido Levels and Female Libido Enhancers

Levels of Libido

A person’s libido is essentially an individual’s sex drive or desire. Each individual has varying levels of libido that are decided by physiological as well as social factors. It is very common for a person exposed to significant levels of frustration, stress and anger to have reduced levels of sexual desire. It is also very common for a person who is unhappy in a relationship to lose any interest or desire to have sex with their partner. The levels of certain chemicals within the body will also contribute to the status of your libido. Extensive studies show remarkable differences between the libido of a woman and a man. For example, women prefer to spend plenty of time talking and being romanced before the sex begins. Men are usually more spontaneous and certain visual stimulants can have an almost immediate effect. Moreover, unlike women, men do not seem to be weighed down by a stressful day or fatigue when it comes to having sex. However, these are merely generalizations rather than a hard rule and the scenario may differ depending on the individual.

How To Increase Female Libido?

When it comes to women, there are a number of mental factors that play a role in deciding the levels of the libido. Suffering from a bad self image or lack of confidence is usually seen as the primary cause of a lower libido and is most commonly a result of weight issues. Anxiety, along with stress can play a significant role as well. Studies have also shown that women that exercise on a regular basis tend to have a higher sex drive. They also tend to have less painful periods and less severe or even non existent PMS. Unknown to many, the diet will also play a role in deciding the level of a woman’s libido. Avoid consuming the very tempting yet unhealthy French fries and burgers, and instead switch over to low carb diets and salads. While birth control pills are very helpful in avoiding unwanted pregnancies, the chemicals can play havoc with your natural physiology. The hormones tend to be artificially leveled which rules out the possibility of sexual peak during ovulation. Certain lifestyle changes will also go a long way into increasing a woman’s sex drive. Increase your intake of high band estrogenic foods such as apples, rice, wheat and yams. Phytoestrogen herbs such as black cohosh and dong quai are very effective in increasing low hormone levels by replacing some of the missing estrogen hormones.
