Human Intestinal Parasites
Intestinal worms can occur in humans, children and adults alike due to bad eating habits or consumption of wrong foods. The main symptoms associated with intestinal worms in humans include foul breath, diarrhea, nutritional disorders, constipation, nausea or vomiting and lack of appetite. In addition to these primary symptoms, the patient also suffers from extreme fatigue, difficulty in sleeping and dark circles. Certain worms can also cause additional symptoms such as itching in the rectal area. Intestinal worms are most commonly caused by eating contaminated food or by eating with hands that are dirty and have not been adequately washed. Often food that has not been cooked properly or cooked in bad hygiene conditions is responsible for intestinal worms in humans. Another reason for the development of intestinal worms is the growth of these worms in the intestines after the eggs have been ingested through the food, due to a bad life style.
There are several simple home remedies that help to treat intestinal parasites. The best known home remedy for intestinal worms is ingestion of freshly ground coconut first thing in the morning, followed by a glass of 250 to 275 ml lukewarm milk mixed with 30 to 60 ml of castor oil. This process should be followed rigidly every morning till the worms have been successfully eliminated from the system. Garlic is also excellent for getting rid of intestinal parasites, so it should be used liberally in food preparations. It is also recommended to chew or swallow 2 to 3 cloves of garlic first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach and wash it down with a glass of lukewarm water. Placing a clove of garlic in each shoe before wearing the shoe is also beneficial. The garlic gets crushed while walking and the juice enters the system through the skin, helping to get rid of the worms in the body. Papaya is also used to treat intestinal parasites. An excellent tonic for treating intestinal worms is 1 tbsp of fresh juice from an unripe papaya mixed with 1 tbsp honey and 3 to 4 tbsp hot water. This should be consumed every morning and followed after a couple of hours with a glass of lukewarm milk with castor oil. Papaya seeds are equally beneficial so they can either be swallowed whole or crushed and mixed into a glass of warm milk which should be consumed every morning. An infusion prepared by steeping the leaves of the papaya plant in boiling water is also excellent for treating intestinal worms.
