How To Cure Pimples

Pimples, also known as acne, are a common problem amongst teenagers. The sebaceous glands that underlie the skin secrete a natural oily substance called sebum, which accumulates with dirt in the pores on the surface of the skin, causing inflammation. These inflamed eruptions on the skin are known as acne or pimples. The sudden spurt in the level of hormones in adolescents causes excessive secretion of sebum and therefore makes teenagers prone to acne. Squeezing pimples often causes them to spread and also leaves behind ugly scars, so one must be very careful not to touch or press them. Drink at least eight to ten glasses of water every day. This ensures that the skin remains healthy and oil-free. Eating lots of fruits and green, leafy vegetables is also recommended, as they too help keep the skin well moisturized. Avoid eating deep-fried and highly sweetened foodstuff, as they make the skin more prone to acne. Make sure that you keep your face clean all the time by washing it frequently with cold water. If you use make-up, make it a point to wash your face properly before going to bed every night. Also observe if your skin feels irritated on the application of any particular cosmetic product, and if it does, stop using that product immediately.

Besides, there are a few simple home remedies to cure pimples. Mix a tablespoon of cinnamon powder with three tablespoons of honey and apply this on your face every night before going to bed. Wash your face properly with warm water the next morning. Following this procedure for a couple of weeks will help you get rid of pimples. Another remedy is to apply a paste made by mixing a grated apple and some honey on the face and leaving it on for 15-20 minutes. After this, wash the face with warm water, followed by a cold rinse. A very effective way of preventing the eruption of pimples is to apply cucumber pulp or juice on the face every day and washing it off after it dries. Cucumber naturally moisturizes the skin and therefore keeps away pimples. A paste made by mixing the juice of holy basil leaves and sandalwood powder in rose water is also highly effective in treating pimples. For another remedy, grind the dried peel of oranges into a fine powder and add a little water to it. Now apply this paste on the pimples and wash if off after 20 minutes. Daily application of this paste cures pimples completely.
