Natural Treatment for Weight Gain
It is human nature for a parent to worry excessively about a child. Most parents will hit the panic buttons at the sign of the smallest of problems. However, this is always a much better reaction than doing absolutely nothing about very obvious concerns. Underweight children are a condition that could either be perfectly natural, or could even be a symptom of much bigger and more serious underlying issue.
If you have an underweight child, it is important to ascertain the reason for this. Underweight children are usually more prone to disease and infection as they normally lack the natural vitamins, minerals and proteins to help their body effectively fight off any serious threats. A number of children are simply born underweight. While most of them will gradually bulk up to the standard size, other may not do so as a result of factors including metabolic rates and appetite. Other children may be underweight as a result of genetic or heredity reasons, while others yet may suffer from physiological or psychological problems. The weight of a person is also largely affected by the amount of food he or she eats and the amount of activities performed. If the child eats more than the amount of activity done, the child will be over weight, but if the proportion is inversed, the child would be underweight.
Most often, the reasons behind a dire lack of healthy weight is a combination of a few of the previously mentioned reasons. The fact that children can be quite difficult does not make the task of getting them to eat a healthy diet any easier. Most children will be very fussy about what they eat because food isn’t really a priority for most of them. If your child likes to snack through the day, make them accustomed to eating 6 small meals a day rather than the traditional 3 big meals in a day. Get them used to eating healthy foods like bananas, baked potato with broccoli and cheese, mini pizzas as well as frozen yogurt. Some parents do not allow their child a minimal indulgence in foods that have fat content in the fear of them turning obese. The human body, though, requires a certain amount of fat daily to carry out some basic activities and the child should be allowed a healthy amount of fat foods. Another possible cause of being underweight is the Zinc deficiency. Try increasing your child’s intake of Zinc through daily meals or supplements, as Zinc stimulates height and growth.
