Natural Cures for Muscular Rheumatism
The term rheumatic disorder or rheumatism are very generic terms when speaking about medical conditions that affect the joints and connecting tissues in the body. The terms would generally point out an acute or chronic disorder that is mainly characterized by the pain and swelling in the muscles or joints. The condition can also affect ligaments, tendons or even joints. The onset of the condition is, most commonly, accompanied by an intense soreness, pain as well as fever. Acute muscular rheumatism can be extremely sensitive up to the point that even light, bed clothing can aggravate the pain. Some of the causes that could lead up to the condition include eating too much acid forming foods, a high intake of refined sugar, the over indulgence of artificial food items, the daily intake of meat and de-mineralized starch, teeth infections, tonsils or even heredity conditions. The symptoms will include a fever, an intense soreness, body pain, joint pain, loss of sleep, coma, improper urination and a stiffness of the affected muscles. One of the most successful remedies in treating rheumatism is the use of raw potato juice. A couple of teaspoons of the juice, extracted by simply mashing the raw potato, should be taken before every meal. This not only helps with the rheumatism, but is also very effective in eliminating toxic conditions.
A planned diet can also do wonders for the condition. For the fist four days of the fast, follow a strict diet of orange juice and water. After that, the patient should be placed on a very restricted diet for about fourteen days and should only have orange or grapefruit for breakfast; raw salad with seasonal vegetables and some prunes, figs and raisins for lunch; while dinner can consist of one or two steamed vegetables. After this course, the patient may be allowed to indulge in a well balanced diet of seeds, grains, nuts, vegetables and fruits. If the rheumatism is chronic, the patient must be placed on an all fruit diet for about four or five days. Foods like meat, fish, sugar, white bread and refined cereals; tea and coffee; sauces, pickles or condiments should be strictly avoided. Drinking lime juice at least two or three times a day will also bring about good and noticeable results when dealing with rheumatism while the consumption of walnuts, thoroughly masticated, will also be beneficial. The application of heat and hot packs to the affected parts like the use of a hot bath or a cabinet steam bath will also help substantially.
