Home Remedies For Warts

Warts are usually a type of infection caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). It could also signify a deficiency of potassium. Some of the places in the body where warts generally appear are the inside of your mouth and the genital areas. Most conventional medication for the treatment of warts is found to have serious side-effects with fewer positive effects. Hence it is most advantageous to treat these using natural cures.

There are many effective natural remedies for warts. Soak a piece of cotton in apple cider vinegar and gently rub the affected areas with it. This treatment shows results almost immediately. Another cure is garlic. Apply ground garlic directly onto the warts. It is known to fight HPV effectively thus not just removing the warts, but also eliminating the root virus thanks to its excellent anti-viral properties. Garlic also improves the immunity of the body so chewing on a fresh pod of Garlic daily will help to prevent an outbreak.

Pineapple too is very effective in treating warts. Cut thin small slices of pineapple and place them over the affected area. Alternatively, you can blend a pineapple and use the thick paste instead of slices. Bandage the pineapple in place with a clean strip of linen or gauze. Change the slices once or twice a day and repeat the treatment everyday for a few weeks for pronounced results.

Castor oil is another remedy. Massage the affected areas gently with castor oil and leave it on overnight. The Application of tea tree oil on the warts 5 to 6 times a day combats the infection, as does the application of fig stem juice. Alternately, break fresh stems of dandelion and apply the milk oozing out on to the warts. Repeat this at least 4 to 5 times a day. It is a very effective way to get rid of warts quickly. Rubbing onion slices or onion pulp on the warts too helps as it improves blood circulation thus minimizing the viral infection.

Make a mixture of baking soda and castor oil. Soak some gauze in the paste and tape the same over the warts. Though this treatment does take time (up to a few weeks), it is known to not just reduce the warts, but also completely remove them. Vitamin E oil too is an excellent cure for this infection.

Enhance the treatment by keeping the affected area dry and clean since warts are prone to appear in moist and sweat prone areas of the body. Frequent baths will prove an excellent aid to the healing process. Preventive measures such as these can go a long way in stemming the spread of the infection.
