How To Treat Strep Throat
This bacterial infection called strep throat can make your throat itchy and sore. It is important to diagnose strep throat because of the condition is left untreated, it can cause a rash, inflame joints and can even cause damage to heart valves.

Some of the symptoms of strep throat are scratchy throat and throat pain, rash, headache, fever, tender and swollen lymph glands. There might be red spots on the palate, and you might have problems swallowing. Younger children might have stomach ache and vomiting.
Home Remedies for Strep Throat
Here are some remedies that you can try at home for relief from strep throat.
• Gargling is a good way to get relief from a scratchy throat. Add a spoonful of salt to warm water and use this saline water for gargling. Salt is a disinfectant and also decreases swelling. Warm water can clear the congestion in the throat. Try to gargle a few times a day.
• Basil leaves can be used to treat strep throat. You can make a healing beverage with it by simmering some leaves in hot water. Add some crushed ginger and peppercorn as well as a dash of honey to it and drink the mixture a few times a day. You can also simmer some crushed leaves in water and use the brew for gargling. Alternatively, boil some milk with Basil leaves, ginger and turmeric. Drink this milk when still warm for relief.
• Add some powdered cinnamon to water and boil it. Add a spoon of honey and some pepper powder. Drink this mixture.
• Add some fenugreek seeds to water and boil. Strain the water. After the mixture has cooled a bit, use it for gargling a few times a day. Alternatively, add some fenugreek seeds in your tea.
• An extract of the bark of mango tree is also an effective home remedy for treating step throat. You can add some essential oil extracted from the mango tree bark in hot water and use it for gargling.
• Heat milk and mix some turmeric to it. Drink this mixture before your bedtime.
• Another gargling solution can be made by boiling water and adding a spoonful of honey, salt, fresh lemon juice squeezed from half a lemon, and a spoonful of ground mustard seeds. Use this mixture for gargling.
• Inhale steam if you have strep throat. Pour hot water in an inhaler and add eucalyptus oil to it. Put a towel over your head and inhale the steam deeply for relief.
