Home Remedies for Hair Loss

Hair loss is a common problem that affects a wide variety of people. There can be several reasons for hair fall, dry and weak hair, dandruff, malnutrition, unsuitable cosmetics, and external weather conditions. Sometimes, hair fall may also indicate an underlying illness of the body or a faulty lifestyle.

Hair fall is often a result of low oil and moisture content in your scalp. Therefore, it is important to apply hair oil regularly. Coconut hair is considered good for hair and should be applied every day. Almond oil and olive can also be applied in the absence of coconut oil. You can also apply hair oil containing Indian gooseberry extract, which is considered extremely beneficial for hair. For best results, you should apply these hair oils before going to sleep and leave them on overnight, so that oil gets absorbed more effectively. You can wash them off in the morning with a mild shampoo. Besides regular shampooing, you should also condition your hair with a paste of henna and egg. Another good conditioner is apple cider vinegar, which can be added to the water you wash your hair with. A paste of soaked black gram and fenugreek seeds is also a good hair fall remedy. You can soak black gram and fenugreek seeds overnight, grind them in the morning and then make a paste by mixing them with yoghurt. Apply this paste on your hair, leave it for about and hour or so until it starts to dry, and then wash it off with water.

Also, do some take care to brush and comb your hair gently. Avoid brushing your hair when it is wet and do not use combs with dense teeth. While drying your hair, you should use a towel to gently soak away the water, rather than vigorously rubbing the towel on your hair. If you have long hair, you should be even more careful while combing or drying your hair. Long hair tends to get entangled much more easily, resulting in increased hair fall and breakage. You should also be careful to choose appropriate hair care cosmetics. Any product that does not seem to go well with your hair should be replaced immediately.

Finally, ensure that you follow a healthy and nutritious diet to get rid of your hair fall problem. In particular, eat foods that are high in protein and vitamin A. Regular sources of protein are eggs, meat, sprouts, cereals, and dairy products. Vitamin A can be sourced from green vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts. Additionally, drink lots of water and fruit juices to keep yourself amply hydrated.
