There are a number of reasons, which give rise to osteoarthritis.  As in case of hips they are associated with the great amount of stress and stress, which the hips bear, managing these risks becomes very important.

The first thing that everybody should do in order to prevent osteoarthritis is to maintain the health of hips and its joints. For this, a regular habit of exercise and particularly of the legs and hips will prove to be most crucial. Exercise has a number of advantages. In addition, it increases the supply of blood and the uptake of the nutrients and oxygen of that region. The regular exercise throughout the life will keep the joints in hips healthy.

The exercise alone will not keep away the osteoarthritis of the hips. It should be supplemented with the right nutrition. The nutrients which are essential for the joints are calcium, phosphorous, vitamin D, selenium, bone protein, etc. it is important to note that in the adulthood the bones and cartilages lose these materials. Therefore, these days it is recommended that the old people should take their additional supplements and keep away the osteoarthritis of the hips.

Another useful thing, which can reduce the chances of osteoarthritis of the hip, is preventing any severe stress on the joints in the hips. Similar it should also be protected from infections over the joints and if they do occur, they should be treated as early as possible. This is because infections in any part of the joint can eventually affect the joints as well.

Reducing weight also reduces the chances of occurrence of the osteoarthritis of the hips. Reducing excess weight is always better as it avoids a number of other problems as well.  If the people practice all these things in their life, they will stay away from osteoarthritis of the hip.
