Dehydration heat stroke
Heat stroke is quite a commonplace occurrence in summers on account of high temperatures. In such a condition, the natural mechanism of the body to deal with excessive heat fails. The body produces or absorbs more heat than it is able to dispel. As such, the temperature of your body rises and this state is referred to as a heat stroke.
The symptoms of heat stroke are nausea, headache, lowering of blood pressure, dizziness, fever, and several others. The most evident symptom of heat stroke is dehydration. Dehydration is a symptom as well as a cause of heat stroke. The natural mechanism of the body to deal with heat involves the formation of sweat. This sweat is evaporated by taking heat from the body, thereby making your body feel cool. In dehydration, the body lacks enough water or moisture to form sweat, thereby leading to heat stroke.
As such, one of the important prevention of a heat stroke is to ensure that the body does not suffer from dehydration. Some home remedies to treat and prevent dehydration, and thereby a heat stroke, are as follows:
• You must drink a lot of water so as to rehydrate your body.
• You must supplement water with minerals as dehydration makes your body devoid of minerals and as such, leads to a dwindling of the normal electrolytic balance of your body fluids like blood and lymph.
• You may also consume vegetable soups to supplement your body with minerals lost in dehydration.
• You must not consume milk and juices when your body is dehydrated. These drinks do not help relieve the symptoms of dehydration. Rather, these drinks may worsen your state of health.
• You must avoid caffeinated and carbonated drinks.
• You are recommended to eat plums to prevent dehydration. To consume this fruit, you may soak it in water, mash it, and filter the extract. Consume this juicy water of plums to relieve the symptoms of dehydration.
• A mango is supposed to lower your body temperature and restore the electrolytic level of your body to a great extent. It is recommended to consume mango extract to alleviate the state of dehydration and prevent heat stroke. To prepare this extract, you first boil a mango and then blend the pulp with pepper, salt, jaggery, cumin seeds, and coriander.
• For immediate relief from heat sroke, take an oral rehydration solution or lime water with some sugar and a pinch of salt.
