Health Benefits of Lemon

The lemon is a small and humble fruit, but is possibly one that has the maximum number of uses and benefits. We can examine some of the commonest uses and benefits here, but this will still be delineating very few. Among the uses of lemon in and around the house, is the property it has of stain removal. Simply rubbing lemon juice on the stain and letting it lie for a while can help to remove most stubborn stains. You can also use lemon juice to polish brass and stainless steel. Simply dab half a lemon in a bit of salt and scrub hard. It is also very useful in cleaning appliances such as a dirty gas. Simply pour some lemon juice on the dirtier areas and rub with a damp cloth after 30 minutes. You will not even have to use elbow grease. You can also use lemon juice to clean the microwave. Squeeze a quarter of a lemon into a bowl of water. Place in the microwave and run for about 3 minutes. The water will evaporate and create a small steam bath in which each corner of your microwave can sparkle. Simply wipe off with a damp paper towel or cloth and see the shine. This is also a great way to help with removing odors from cooking appliances.

Lemon is also very useful in improving the general immunity of your body. It is extremely high in vitamin C and can help to maintain healthy teeth and bones as well as fight off tooth and gum disease. Lemon juice can also serve as mild facial bleach. You should mix it with a neutral juice like that of tomato or papaya in order to get the best results. Use on the face as a regular face pack. It is also very useful in helping to absorb excessive oil from the skin. Avoid using it if you have dry skin, as it could end up drying your skin further. Lemon juice is also considered to be the best natural cure for getting rid of dandruff. If you are plagues with heavy and thick dandruff, you can take half a lemon and scrub this into your scalp. Leave this on for about half an hour or till your scalp begins to itch. Then wash it off with your usual shampoo. Just use it twice a week for two weeks and you will be dandruff free!
