Hair Loss Remedy: What do I Use for Hair Loss in Children?

Hair loss is a condition called alopecia. This condition in adults is manifested by a more common name called balding and is a natural process caused by the hormonal changes of adulthood. In children this is usually a sign that they are suffering from seborrhoeic dermatitis. This is an affliction of the skin and is considered to be a very mild form of eczema. However, only after a detailed diagnosis from a medical practitioner and a dermatologist can this conclusion be arrived at and treatment initiated. However, to eliminate this as possibility and make the treatment of it smoother, it is worth delving into this affliction in detail.

This condition is caused due to a high vitamin A intake. Under normal circumstances, human beings get all their nutritional and dietary needs from the food they eat and this is assuming that the food is nutritious and well balanced. However, in modern society, there tends to be a leaning to eat conveniently rather than nutritiously and that sometimes causes higher than normal intakes of certain vitamins. Try and see if there is a dietary trend when you analyze the food habits of the child. You can then check the nutritional value of the diet to see if there is a high vitamin A content in that set of foods. This is the first stage of correcting the seborrhoeic dermatitis. Next, you need to increase the intake of the following compounds: Biotin, Pyridoxine, and Riboflavin. These are the chemical names for the vitamins B7, B6, and B2. The lack of all these tend to cause hair loss in children. Biotin deficiency is a common cause of hair fall in adults and also in children and is regularly prescribed to combat the condition.

One of the greatest sources of vitamin B is milk and diary products. A healthy intake of milk and diary products is the best way to stock up on all the B vitamins. There are certain vegetable options also like tomatoes, leafy green vegetables, soybean products, almonds, carrots, lettuce, and cereals that can help. However, the reason for advocating milk is the ease with which milk products can be given to children. There are many mixtures and combination of foods like chocolate milk and yoghurt that are quite amenable to a child’s palette and should be explored. You should also try an increase in iron intake by adding more green vegetables and onions to the menu or by using supplements from your local drugstore.
