Many women go for estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) to replace estrogen hormones in the period of menopause. During menopause the natural hormone secretion of estrogen and progesterone has reduced and so to make up this loss, women go for this replacement.  Lack of estrogen hormone, will generate symptoms of dryness and complete lack of sexual desire. Therefore, Estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) can be used to replace hormones lost in menopause. Therefore, hormones therapy is an effective hormone replacement technique. Sometimes women may go for hormone therapy to get relief from anxiety and gain concentration.

The effects of Estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) may include both positives and negatives. The benefits of hormone replacement therapy may include prevention from bone loss that occurs after menopause and it is useful to decrease the risks of osteoporosis related diseases such as hip facture. Prevention from colorectal cancer is another benefit of Estrogen replacement therapy (ERT). In addition, study shown that estrogen can helps to decrease risk of heart related diseases especially in your postmenopausal years. Therefore, estrogen replacement therapy not only helps women to prevent from diseases but it helps women to achieve desired fitness level.

Estrogen replacement therapy also includes some of very common side effects of therapy such as some women may develop symptoms of breast cancer due to hormone replacement therapy, sometimes it can develop symptoms of hair loss and itching. Sometimes, women may develop symptoms of stroke of blood clots due to hormone replacement therapy.  However, women may consult doctors to prevent side effects of hormone replacement therapy.

Besides all these side effects, estrogen replacement therapy is still gaining its popularity and most women prefer to choose therapy to increase quality in their life and effectiveness.
