Ear Ringing
Ear ringing is also commonly referred to as tinnitus. Ear ringing symptoms include a whining, whistling, ringing, clicking, or buzzing sound within a person’s ear. Apart from causing severe discomfort, this condition could be indicative of a more serious underlying disorder, such as a loss of hearing, ear infection or a tumor. Tinnitus is primarily divided into 2 categories, subjective and objective. In the former, the sound can be heard by the individual only, and this form is easier to treat. In the latter form of the condition, the sounds can be heard not only by the individual, but also by people that surround him/her as well. This form of tinnitus may at times be a bit of a challenge to treat. Some of the causes of ear ringing are as follows; head trauma, ear infections, blocked canals, side effect of certain medications and damage or injury to the nerve endings of the ear. If the condition has been caused due to a tumor or ear wax, then it can be easily treated by getting rid of the obstructing item. However, when caused due to conditions like nerve damage or head trauma, treatment then becomes a little challenging.
Remedy Ringing Ears
There is no exact or specific cure or home remedy for ear ringing. The mode of treatment that is to be administered will vary from one person to another, depending on the reason behind the condition and the severity of the same. For example, if it has been caused due to loud noises, then the solution would lie in wearing a mask, hat or some protective covering to shield the ears. If on the other hand it has been caused due to some other underlying condition, then treating that first would prove to be beneficial. In the meanwhile here are a few tips that might help. People that suffer from this ailment should avoid salts, saturated fats, and processed foods, as these are known to aggravate the condition. In addition, aerated drinks, tea, coffee, refined alcohol and sweet foods are known to worsen this condition and hence are best avoided.
Include plenty of fruits, green vegetables, sea vegetables, kelp and garlic into your diet. Foods that are rich in zinc, vitamin E, vitamin B and vitamin A, should also be consumed regularly. Consulting a doctor would be the most prudent thing to do. He/she may not be entirely successful in getting rid of the sound, but they can definitely help one in managing it.
