How to Cleanse Liver

One of the most effective ways to cleanse the liver is through a good and healthy diet. This is generally recommended for people with liver disorders but it can be followed by just about anyone. Everything we eat passes through the liver and then on through the blood stream. The liver is essential to various metabolic processes including digestion and absorption. It is also responsible for the detoxification of the body. The liver thus helps to absorb nutrients and expel toxins.

Since the liver plays a vital role in detoxification, the slightest malfunction can cause several resultant health problems. A liver cleansing diet helps the body to excrete toxins without placing additional strain on the liver. Foods that are high in various preservative chemicals as well as added flavors can place a strain on the liver. Foods that are high in fats and spices too place a burden on the liver. An inadequate amount of water in the body also inhibits detoxification.

Liver Cleansing Diet

You should try to stick to a cleansing and detoxifying diet for at least a month. Try to do this once a year or more for best results. For a whole month, you should follow a hermitically simple diet. Exclude all foods that have preservatives, are high in sugar and contain chemical enhancements from your diet. Remember that all these types of foods can strain your liver. At the outset, this will help to decrease the amount of toxins coming into your body. It will also aid in the removal of excess build up of toxins in your system. You should also not be eating heavy food that is complex to break down and digest. This would include red meat, breads, salty foods, junk and fried fatty foods. All caffeine and caffeine related products should always be avoided, as should all alcohol and nicotine products. Include plenty of fruits and fruit juices in your daily diet. Fruits contain plenty of vital nutrients, water and fiber and assist detoxification. Fluids help to cleanse the body of toxins while fiber helps to cleanse the digestive tract. Raw vegetables and juices, salads with fresh vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, tomato, carrots, cucumber and cabbage should be the included in your daily meals. You can also include yogurt in your diet as this product contains healthy bacteria that inhibits the growth of unhealthy bacteria. You also need to drink a lot of water which will help the body to flush out toxins via urination and perspiration. Organic dairy and dairy products are considered high in natural antioxidants.
