The pain in the joints which affects the children between the age group of 6 months to 16 years are called juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

For proper medical examination it is very important that accurate diagnosis of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is done.  As the disease is attributed to the fact that the white blood cells become incapable of distinguishing clearly between the healthy and non healthy cells, so it is imperative to examine the blood cells.

Doctors resort to blood count; the red blood cells, the white blood cells and the platelets are thoroughly examined to check for any abnormality.  Blood is also checked for any kind of viral or bacterial infections.  These infections can also result in the abnormal behavior of the blood which may lead to the pain in the joints.

Antinuclear antibody test, rheumatoid test, bone marrow examinations and erythrocyte sedimentation rate are some of the methods by which diagnosis of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is done.   All this tests are done to figure out whether there is any kind of problem associated with the blood of the child.

Moreover in many of the cases the doctor may recommend examinations of the fluids present in the joints of the child. These are done so that that it can be clearly ascertained that the abnormality in the blood is not due to any other factors because in many of the cases the pain might be due to different reasons.

So when the doctor becomes convinced that the pain is only due to arthritis he may recommend proper medications. There are three types of arthritis: Polyarticular arthritis,    Pauciarticular JRA and Systemic JRA have slightly different symptoms.  Understanding these symptoms is important because different symptoms may require different medications and different approach.

It is always better to go for natural process to cure the disease; physical exercises which tones up the muscles and making it flexible may help in healing the disease permanently.
But if medicines are required then take it; follow the doctor’s advice. He is the best person to guide you.

Be in proper touch of the doctor; he will help in diagnosis of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and will show you the best path.   Once the diagnosis is done you can take the medication as recommended by the doctor.  Never ever try to ignore the symptoms, the moment you feel the problem visit a doctor.
