Dark skin around Neck

A dark neck is not an uncommon feature in most people. There are some solid reasons for it. A dark neck, sometimes also known as an ashy neck, is one of the commonest things to happen while pregnancy. This is a typical and normal reaction to certain types of hormonal changes that occur and there is really nothing much that you can do about it. Your best bet is to continue taking good care of your skin throughout the time that you are experiencing an ashy neck. Wash well and scrub hard as you normally would. The dark pigmentation is caused due to a hormonal imbalance or disturbance, which will right itself after you have delivered. The skin will also come back to normal in a matter of days. People who are overweight also develop a dark neck sometimes. This happens because there are folds of fat around the neck, which do not allow for proper cleaning of the neck. Dust and dirt tends to get trapped in these folds and then you will develop this kind of a dark area on the neck. You need to follow up on doing some neck exercises and lose weight especially on this area. Alongside this, you should also continue to scrub your neck well. Once a week, use an exfoliating agent which will help to remove the dirt and debris stuck in corners and crevices really well.

A lot of times, people tend to neglect cleaning their neck well. Over a period of time, this can also lead to a darkening of the neck. Use appropriate measures to clean your neck thoroughly. If, after scrubbing regularly for a couple of weeks, you see no change, you should consider the possibility that there may be other causes. A dark ring like mark around the neck can also sometimes indi cate diabetes or a thyroid problem. However, please do not jump to these conclusions. You would need to take proper medical tests to figure out whether you are afflicted with any of these conditions. If you are, you can then seek the appropriate medication and natural remedies for the condition. There are creams and lotions that the doctors can provide which will help to resolve the problem quite quickly. Apart from this, you will also have to make some basic changes in your lifestyle to ensure that the condition responsible, if any, does not become chronic. Early detection can help avert such problems.
