Dark circles are usually caused due to lack of sleep, fluid retention, or aging. It could also be an inherited condition. Here are some simple home remedies to cure the dark circles that you’ve noticed under your eyes. While, some people prefer to resort to under-eye creams, you will just need to rummage in your kitchen to find the curatives.

- Wash, peel and grate a potato making a mash. Apply the mash on your dark circles thrice a week.
- Cucumber is another popular home remedy for those dark circles. You could either place slices of cool cucumber over your eyes every day for 15 minutes or you could place cotton pads dipped in cucumber juice to relax your eyes.
- Applying cotton pads dipped in rose water is another excellent solution.
- Massage your eyes and dark circles with some almond oil at bed time to free yourself of stressed eyes and dark circles.
- Dabbing your eyes with cotton dipped in chilled water for about 10 minutes can do away with the dark circles.
- Take a used, squeezed out tea bags and place them over your eyes for 10 minutes. This is sure to work wonders on puffy eyes and dark circles. It’s said that the caffeine works towards lessening the water in the tissue around the eyes.
- A few drops of tender coconut water can be lightly massaged around the eyes. Cool and relaxing, coconut water can help heal under-eye circles.
- Take some butter and apply it and massage under the eyes gently. If you do this a couple of times a day, you will notice the difference.
- Tomato and lime juice are what you need for this simple home remedy. Mix equal parts of tomato and lime juice, and apply this mixture under your eyes. Leave it on for at least half an hour before washing off. This might seem a bit tedious, but the tomato and lime should work on those under-eye circles.
- And, apart from all the kitchen ingredients that you can apply, you must also drink lots of water and eat a lot of fruits and fresh vegetables. Eat a fruit when you feel like snacking, munch on some salad when hunger strikes and include a few veggies in curries and stir-fries.
