How to Control Diabetes
Diabetes is a serious health condition affecting many people around the world. The worst part of the disease is that once you get it, you cannot get rid of it but only control it with the help of a proper diet and medicines. Diabetes is actually because of a person’s diet and is caused as the body is not able to produce enough insulin. It is the primary responsibility of insulin to convert starch, sugar and other such food into energy that is required by the body to perform various bodily functions. Since enough insulin is not being produced, the levels of glucose rise in the blood as they are not being carried to the cells of the body. You may either get type 1 diabetes or type II diabetes and in both the cases, the cells in the body are not getting enough glucose.
There are a number of symptoms of diabetes and the urge to frequently urinate is one of them because there is excess glucose present in the blood. In this case, the kidneys are not able to filter and take glucose back to the blood because of which they try and take more water out of the blood so that the glucose levels can be diluted. This is the reason for a person to visit the bathroom quite often when affected with diabetes. However, there are a number of other reasons as to why you make frequent trips to the bathroom but if you are suffering from diabetes then, this is the cause for it.
Diabetes can be controlled and maintained but it is important that you bring about a change in your lifestyle especially your eating habits. Indulge in eating a lot of healthy food that is nutritious and provides you with tons of vitamins and minerals. Eat whole foods like grains, beans, nuts, fruits, vegetables and seeds that are a rich source of fiber as they help in controlling the levels of blood sugar. There are different opinions on whether you should drink less water or continue drinking a lot of water; this is one of the major concerns and it is best you consult your doctor for the best solution. If you are not sure that you have diabetes but showing this symptom it is of crucial importance that you visit a doctor and get yourself checked for diabetes because if not treated, it can have serious effects on your life.
