In our perfection seeking world, we never ever publicly complain of constipation. But as the sufferer knows it can make you feel uncomfortable, bloated, sluggish and even unwell.To describe it clinically, constipation is a difficulty in bowel movements; it could be irregular or hard and dry stools. In most cases the most important causes of constipation are low consumption of water and fibrous foods. These causes make it an easy problem to cure with some simple home remedies.

I would advice drink plenty of water, and other fluids, like lemon-barley water, lime and prune juice. If you suffer from chronic constipation, begin your day with a glass of warm water; you could add some honey in it. Fluids are essential in the working of the digestive system; adequate intake will relieve constipation

The second important step is to change your diet  give up refined foods like white bread, cakes, tinned and preserved food and eat more fiber laden foods like bran, papaya, raisins, grapes, oranges. Replace white bread with fortified whole grain brown bread, eat more vegetables, and reduce the consumption of meat. All these dietary changes will move your sluggish system, and in the long run keep constipation at bay.

The lack of exercise causes constipation. A simple walk around the block or even some stretching and bending exercises would help, in easing the problem.

Pregnant woman sometimes suffer from constipation. They should eat plenty of fruits and vegetable, but avoid the papaya as it sometimes causes other problems in this condition.

Children also suffer from constipation, but usually it is because they drink much less water and fiber than needed. The obvious solution is to increase both.

For a quicker relief you could use the traditional and natural laxative made from psyllium seed husks, and it is now being promoted in America under different brand names.

Doctors nowadays advocate the use of natural ingredients to relieve constipation. If one uses over the counter laxatives to relieve constipation, the body could become dependent on it, and this could cause a whole host of side effects.

You must work towards curing it with natural ingredients, because one of the long-term side effects of constipation is hemorrhoids, and this can be very serious.

So I would advice a simple change of diet and eight glasses of water a day and you will sing ?oh what a beautiful feeling? every single day.
