Common fever
Fever is a condition of the body where the temperature goes beyond normal. For a healthy body, the temperature remains between 36.9 degree C and 37.5 degree C, or 98.4 degree F and 99.5 degree F. It can go slightly up or down, varying on the amount of exercise, the food taken or the inherent body heat in the as compared to the surroundings. It differs from person’s body condition. Usually fever starts with slight pain in the head or some other part of the body. It is accompanied by shivering and a feeling of cold. As the body temperature increases the pulse and respiration also becomes faster. Sometime common cold and sore throat also leads to fever.

Instead of taking antibiotics, there are some home remedies helpful at the time of fever.

    * Juices should be taken when a person is suffering from fever as they get digested easily. Orange juice is the ideal liquid food in fevers as it provides energy and promotes resistance against infection. Grapefruit juice helps to remove the burning sensation produced by the fever.
    * The leaves of holy basil should be boiled and taken as it helps to get down the fever.
    * Raisins can be soaked overnight and this water can be taken as a tonic. This is quite helpful in treatment of common fever.
